Donald Trump isn’t fit to be POTUS
DEAR EDITOR:
I love this country deeply, but I am concerned about what I see happening under Donald Trump’s leadership. My father, five uncles, a cousin and my late fiance, all served in the military and fought in wars to preserve our freedoms. They were brave enough to serve, unlike Trump, who avoided military service. Recently, my granddaughter joined the U.S. Army, and I am incredibly proud of her.
Yet, here come the Trump supporters who voted for a narcissistic egomaniac, a liar, a convicted felon and a draft dodger to lead our great nation. I cannot recall a previous president who resorted to selling sneakers, hats, Bibles, “Trumpy Bears” and even “Trumpy Trout” to fund his campaign — and you fell for it.
A few years ago, our vice president referred to Trump as an “American Hitler,” and I believe he was correct. It seems evident that many Trump supporters fail to read history based on their voting choices. Recent protests have fallen on deaf ears because we have a president who cares only about himself and his billionaire friends.
That brings me to Elon Musk, someone we never voted for but whose decisions we are now forced to accept. Great choice, Trump supporters. Trump is not fit to manage a convenience store, let alone lead this great country. Trump belongs in the Big House, not the White House.
Under Trump’s administration, federal agencies are understaffed and his erratic tariff policies are creating global chaos. I fear his next stunt will be cutting benefits for veterans — benefits slashed by a Vietnam War draft dodger. Will he cut Social Security next? These are benefits the disabled and the elderly rely on.
Wake up, Trump supporters. Trump needs to be impeached again and held accountable for his lies. To make matters worse, he pardoned the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys, the groups involved in the insurrection against our Capitol and democracy.
That horrible event could happen again because Trump is undoubtedly behind it.
I cannot fathom how anyone with half a brain or a love of this great country would vote for a liar, convicted felon and draft dodger. I hope and pray this great country can survive the next four years. Trump is the biggest joke of a president we have ever had and now he wants to celebrate his birthday with a military parade — a military he never served in because he was afraid.
