Trump embarrasses us by bogus information

DEAR EDITOR:

Friends returning from a recent vacation in Italy told me of an encounter with

Canadian tourists who asked which of the states they were from. All said Ohio, and the Canadians responded, “Oh, the cat-eating state.” Fortunately, all present knew just how asinine that idea, supported by GOP candidates, is, and had fun discussing other Trump stories of the ridiculous like bird-killing wind turbines and trickle down value from tax cuts for billionaires.

Unfortunately, not everyone has as much insight. Some people believe every word of such fantastic lies, even as they change by the minute.

Recent writers to The Vindicator bear witness to the confusion this leads to. Some seem to believe Trump is running against former President Obama campaign themes of hope and change. Those are noble ideas, and surely worthy of any candidate for office. But, Vice President Harris is using a motto of “we’re not going back” as in we’re not going back to health care for women governed by an 1800s law to regulate interstate commerce. Not going back to totally unregulated industries, run by friendly GOP donors, as they rape the environment or to any notion that riotous insurrection is legitimate free speech as incited by the lies of a narcissist looser. These must be refused. Not going back to the dystopian views of a chronic liar. That is worthy of hope for change. Lies about immigrants, total tariff economic plans, trading the freedom of allies in order to curry favor with despots are not worthy of our nation, and most voters won’t be going back to them.
