Ex president: He’s an accordion-playing liar
DEAR EDITOR:
If his former fixer’s assertion that Trump’s “accordion player” hand gestures while speaking indicate he’s lying, the loser of the 2020 election is nowadays playing “Flight of the Bumblebee” on a squeeze box as imaginary as his “alternative” facts. Just watch him go every time he provides a word salad response to any specific question. Every note is sour and none addresses the question at hand as he flip-flops from one irrelevance to another.
As I’m writing prior to their debate, I can only speculate that with dignity, intelligence, greater experience and fierce love of democracy, Kamala Harris will mop the stage with the crass narcissist opposing her. I hope that she will respond to Trump’s first blathering answer by explaining to the camera that, though she may defer to a rambling elder out of respect for their wisdom, that won’t be the case tonight. Because, when Trump weaves as many words as possible into a tangled web, the result is not wisdom, but usually a lie, that serves only Trump even as it divides and weakens America.
