We need every dollar store the city can fit. These stores provide the basics throughout this city and we need more of them. Not everyone has a car to go to get around…these dollar stores are Godsends to the poorest of the Valley. City council deciding to limit them is sickening. Work with them to provide healthy food. However, poor people can’t afford healthy food because it costs too much. Your reasoning is flawed.

The fire station should remain downtown. Wick Ave. is narrow now through YSU’s Campus. What will trucks do if they cannot get through to get downtown during YSU rush hours? Buy up the corner where old Dollar Bank was and build there. That building has been empty for 10 years. Or where the old State Theater faced Boardman and Federal streets the opposite way. There’s room there too.

Four years ago I saw family, friends and a million Americans die of COVID-19 while our president lied about the spread of the disease, suggested we drink bleach and said we didn’t need masks. I watched my 401k lose over 20% of its value. Today we don’t have to wear masks, unemployment is down, the stock market is up, infrastructure is all over the Valley and my 401k has risen about 30%. I for one don’t want to go back.

Since hiring and then firing Ronna McDaniel, former Republican National Chair, within a week due to her former position, NBC can no longer be considered a news organization but more of an arm for the Democrat Party!

The editor is wrong to publicly criticize JD Vance on voting no for the government spending bill. The bill does provide money for the border but to process more illegals, more phones, more $350 / weekly paydays, and more flights full of Venezuela’s worst. It provides untraceable money to Ukraine and electrifying parts of Africa. Read the bill. America first. We are $31 trillion in debt.

How embarrassing of Joe Biden and the Democrats to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter Sunday. What do you expect when the DNC voted in 2012 to eliminate God from the DNC? Democrats seem to be against anything that is good and decent, the only thing that they have perfected is lying and the desire for power.

Our good Catholic President, Joe Biden, proclaims Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day of Visibility” Wow. Then, we have former President Donald Trump hawking Bibles for $60. It’s 2024 and we should ask if this is the best we can do. A lot of people worry about being attacked by another country. However, we’re doing a great job of killing ourselves from within. Crime, open borders, inflation and poor education system are all factors. The next four years will be painful.

Trump may not be running or campaigning just for the presidency, he is running to become a dictator, a no-holds-barred dictator of this country, a dictator with total immunity to do anything he wants, to go after his perceived enemies, anyone who says or did anything he thinks does not keep him in the limelight or bow down to him. How in the world can the “new GOP” keep fawning over him and backing this lying bully?

The Francis Scott Key Bridge tragedy and loss of legal immigrant workers’ lives is haunting, but Generous Joe didn’t hesitate to declare that the federal government would pay the entire cost of the damage and losses. Even Hurricane Katrina didn’t get that kind of FEMA love. Had the accident destroyed Florida’s Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Biden wouldn’t have been so quick to offer federal dollars because it’s a Republican-heavy state with a Republican governor — not a liberal-leaning state and Democrat governor.
