DEAR EDITOR:
Congratulations to the Youngstown, Struthers and Campbell city schools for being selected to receive funding to bring zero-emission electric school buses to their districts. These awards are part of the U.S. EPA's Clean School Bus Program funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
We applaud the leaders of these districts for taking the initiative to provide cleaner, healthier transportation for their students. Diesel emissions can worsen respiratory illnesses like asthma and have been shown to negatively impact learning. This pollution is bad for students and bus drivers alike.
On behalf of Moms Clean Air Force in Ohio, thank you for taking this important step to improve the health of Ohio kids.
