DEAR EDITOR:

I am writing in response to Attorney David Betras’ letter regarding Tim Ryan.

Now that Tim Ryan is a candidate for U.S. Senate, he is claiming he will be tough on China. President Trump was doing just that. Where was Mr. Ryan then? Now he wants us to believe he is our “knight in shining armor.” I don’t think so!

During President Trump’s State of the Union Address, Tim Ryan walked out! In my opinion, this is disrespecting the office of the president of the United States. Also, what is this type of behavior teaching our children?

I believe Mr. Ryan also is in favor of open borders. This can lead only to lawlessness and destroys the security of our country.

I also heard Mr. Ryan state that he is a progressive. By following this philosophy, we will lose our country as we know it.

If you agree with open borders, eliminating fossil fuels and being energy dependent, then maybe Tim Ryan is your choice; however, my choices are those candidates who truly want to protect our country and protect our democracy.

My fellow citizens, remember to seriously think before you vote. Remember, we are not voting for class president. Do not vote on your like or dislike of a candidate. Vote on their policies and if you agree with him.
