I’m tired of people who don’t live in Youngstown explaining to me, who lived in Youngstown for almost 60 years, what’s wrong with my city. Had they chosen to live in Youngstown, I might listen to them. We have issues, but so do their local governments. Mayor Brown has not ruined this city by hiring people he knows. Even if he did, so has every politician. Work at solving your problems, and let us city residents work on ours!

If Delphi Packard retirees get their pensions restored to 100 percent, then every steelworker who had his or her pension reduced should have it restored retroactively back to the day the mills closed. It’s only fair.

To some people: Quit whining about gasoline prices. Think back to 30 or 40 years ago. You may have paid as much as 55 cents per gallon. Then add 25 cents per year increase, which should be reasonable: 30 years x 25 cents = $7.50 rise.

Mike Pence has said he doesn’t know if he and 45 disagree on anything more than focus. So, if the GOP wants him to run for POTUS, they want someone like 45 whose four years in office still serve him, his friends and focus.

Regarding the soundoff on “bothered by how Republicans treat Democrats” because a sign from defeated Republican candidate remains roadside? If this person is only bothered today by how Republicans treat Democrats, they must not be bothered by how Democrats treat Republicans with policies of open borders, inflation, gas and food prices, high crime, lost money in retirement accounts, etc. If this could be turned around to life a few years ago, I would gladly pick up all old campaign signs!

Recent SCOTUS rulings simply corrected a major error from a past court as well as overreaches by state and federal governments. A simple reading of the 10th Amendment will explain the limits placed on the authority of the U.S. government. Not getting what you want doesn’t mean the court is “illegitimate.” Presidents are elected when they secure at least 270 electoral votes. This has been the law for well over 200 years.

What is wrong with our nation that we do nothing to stop these killings? Are we learning nothing from experience? Do we care nothing about lives? Children, our future, are killed. Some are orphaned. We call ourselves a civilized society. Where are the supposed somewhat intelligent politicians? What do they do with their time except try to get re-elected? Shame on them for not addressing these horrific murders, as they seem to be almost a daily occurrence.

Steve Bannon has been found guilty of contempt of Congress for not honoring a subpoena to appear in front of a kangaroo court. I think I’m one of millions in contempt of this Congress for what they are doing and not doing. The House of Representatives’ primary job is representing you, not a political party. How’s that working for you?

This select Jan. 6 congressional committee is embarrassing our country. Royalty drags subjects before their court in a purely partisan rigged investigation. I’m not beholden to any party, only good leaders. Trump, a gritty N.Y. businessman, makes you uncomfortable?

Yeah, me too sometimes, but he keeps promises, and our country was better for it. Biden is a sweet, old, senile man you wanna hug. Meanwhile, our nation is more divided and spiraling into an economic disaster.

I’ll take the tough love.
