Urge Congress to act to ban horse slaughter
DEAR EDITOR:
I am writing to you today because I believe horse slaughter is cruel and unnecessary.
I support passing the federal SAFE ACT (Save America’s Forgotten Equines Act) to ban horse slaughter this year.
The entire process of horse slaughter — from transport to stunning methods — is inherently cruel. Horses that wind up in the slaughter pipeline are usually purchased from unsuspecting owners by “kill-buyers” or industry middlemen who profit from selling the animals to foreign slaughterhouses.
Please help stop this, and vote for the SAFE ACT to ban horse slaughter!
