Support school levy for Hubbard district
DEAR EDITOR:
Voters in the Hubbard Exempted Village School District will see a renewal levy on the Nov. 2 ballot that will not raise taxes.
The 4.2-mill emergency operating levy generates critical funding that supports district operations, including supplies, transportation, utilities, staff salaries and more. The levy provides $986,000 annually, and if approved by voters, the district will continue to receive the same amount.
If the levy fails, the district will need to make difficult budget cuts.
Before casting a ballot, educate yourself about the issue, and know that strong school systems are the foundations for strong communities.
