Limits are needed for guns, marijuana

DEAR EDITOR:

On the front page of the Nov. 19 Vindicator was an article about a bill that would expand gun rights.

I totally support a good, common sense “Stand your Ground Law.” I do not support giving 18 year olds the right to acquire a CCW permit, and I do not support allowing people in bars with a concealed weapon.

Carrying a concealed weapon and having a CCW permit are a privilege that I hold dear. It’s a right we, as citizens, must protect.

Another issue I heard in the news was about a businessman who grows medical marijuana in Youngstown supporting an idea to legalize marijuana for recreational use. That’s an idea that I strongly oppose. If you think this is something you believe would be a good idea, go to California. It would not be a good idea for the people of Ohio. This has been tried before and the people said “no.” Accept that and move on.

Guns and marijuana do not mix well. Keep them out of reach of young people.
