Local debate failed to address abortion

DEAR EDITOR:

The televised and live-streamed debate between our three candidates vying for the congressional seat was very well organized — much better than the presidential debate. Asking the questions were mainly local reporters. COVID-19, quality health care, college education, infrastructure and racism were some of the topics. The issues are local and national.

Again, though, the media did not address abortion and the opinions of our candidates. Sad, but luckily the public has the internet to obtain any information. For example, President Trump was the first sitting president to attend the March for Life rally in Washington, D.C. Rarely did I see this covered on TV, in newspapers, etc.

We all know how unpleasant abortion is, but where is the attention? Even though the killing of George Floyd had to be addressed, chaos erupted and Black Lives Matter came about again. I understand, though I also know there were over 54,000 abortions — lives gone — in New York City in 2017.

I am a Christian, and I support Pro Life. We deserve the opinion of our politicians in public.
