Went downtown to the Trump rally, but got there too late, so I stood on a Front Street sidewalk across from the Covelli Centre, where protesters shouted and chanted incessantly until the president's motorcade passed. I was impressed with the group's limited vocabulary, mostly the "F" word. The rally finally gave the protesters an outlet to put their eight or 12 years of formal education on public display.

Anyone who believes that Amy Acton closed schools and businesses should know better. Gov. DeWine said it was his decision. What happened in Ohio was happening all over the country. The woman who was crying on the TV ad about not being able to afford her house if Acton gets elected better think about how she is going to pay for her medical bills if Ramaswamy gets elected. He will cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. He said they were mistakes.

Residents of Lordstown, McDonald and Hubbard have all voiced their concerns about the construction of data centers in their communities. So why does the city of Youngstown believe its residents should welcome a company that has its roots in China to the North Side? Shouldn't the administration have put the facts about the venture before the public in the light of day so that they could provide feedback to City Council and the mayor before signing off on the project?

I'm glad for all the cards I've been sent by Husted, Acton, Ramaswamy and Brown. I now have enough to keep the fireplace going all winter. Two weeks before the election, and I haven't decided who to vote against. (It's been years since I've voted FOR someone.) With the obnoxious TV ads, I'm grateful to the Tribune for printing interviews with the candidates. The October 17-18 interviews with the gubernatorial candidates reaffirmed my decision -- I don't want either of them.

Reporting indicates that Prosegur of Spain has been hired by U.S./USPS to place armed agents, known for human rights abuse, at designated post offices across the country. Cost for such has been redacted for the public. What impact will this have on the election and mail-in voting? Do your research. Vote early, use drop boxes when possible. VOTE!!!

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, will spend close to $300 million to help elect Republicans, including Husted, Ramaswamy and Rulli. Why? Because 47 and our GOP-controlled government cut his taxes and look the other way when the government sends business to Musk. While the Department of Government Efficiency laid off thousands of government employees, Musk, 47 and his kids enriched themselves while they cut Medicaid and Medicare. Husted and Rulli voted for the Big Beautiful Bill Act and have looked the other way while everyday Americans suffer. Vote out the GOP enablers.

Trump wants a summit with Xi and Putin to determine the future of Ukraine without Zelenskyy at the table. Sounds like the Axis of Evil. The scary part is that our own Grifter in Chief wants to be the third member. Why not? He's already lifting Russian sanctions, giving them cash to help Iran kill our troops and enabling his tech bros to drop data centers where and as they will for PAC donations. VOTE the trash out.

To the idiot who punched the lady at Donald Trump's rally and bragged about it on Facebook, to the accompanying crowd, to the noneffective police who hauled her out and let the abusers remain, and to Trump who egged the fiasco on with demeaning talk about her size … this is what we are becoming under this administration. Shameful. The lowest of the low. Sure showed both Youngstown and Trump's lack of class.

Lifting sanctions and buying diesel from Putin, in my opinion, makes Trump at best a useful idiot of the invader of Ukraine and at worst a loathsome traitor. Desperate to break the blue wave of the midterms, he's trying to buy (ineffectively) enough fuel to win votes of those screwed (us) by his tariffs. His purchase finances Putin' s war on Ukraine and Iranian attacks around the Persian Gulf. He's killing Ukrainian and U.S. troops. Dump Trump. Vote!

We deserve better. Presidents should put Americans first, not self. They should put principle over profit for themselves and family. Presidents should work for diplomacy with other countries, not be nasty and divisive. Starting a war without congressional consent is wrong. This plus tariffs resulted in skyrocketing prices and struggling for us all. Presidents should bring our country together. Sadly, family, friends and neighbors are divided and relationships ruined. Husted supports Trump's policies and war. We deserve better. Vote for Sherrod Brown.

Are you better off today than you were two years ago? I'm sorry but the answer is YES. The border is closed, murder rates are the lowest in 150 years. Crime rates are at their lowest level in several decades. Employment is at the highest level since World War II. Wages are up. And we no longer have a nuclear threat.

To all the people planning on voting for the Democratic candidates: Look at what's happening in France. This is socialism gone bad. This is always what happens when the socialist government can't fulfill its promises. This could happen here if the American people don't wise up. Don't fool yourself into thinking that the far left Democrats aren't going to try this. If we elect these Democratic Socialists, all I can say is God help us!
