100% of property tax stays in your community to pay for the services you take for granted. Very little sales tax or income tax is returned to your town. Most of it goes to Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland. Police, fire, 911 dispatch, senior services, road maintenance, libraries and local health departments all depend on property tax. Townships do not have income taxes and would have no way to make up the loss of revenue.

The 9/29 televised investigation of Jack Smith's report on Trump's big lie was a witch hunt. The GOP hacks mischaracterized, misrepresented, interrupted, bullied, called names and played martyrs in the face of an honest man's testimony in an attempt to support the felon Trump. All Trumpian bluster and untruth. VOTE. We deserve better.

Husted is MAGA, supports Trump. He says he wants to end the Iran War, however he supported it to begin with Trump. Now, we have exorbitant gas prices! Not caring about surging prices, he defended Trump's tariffs. FirstEnergy was involved in the biggest bribery scandal in Ohio history; they are supporters of Husted. He voted against making the Epstein files available and received money from Les Wexner. Survivors are still suffering. Husted supports Trump. Brown supports Ohioans.

Why hasn't he changed the name of Mar-a-Lago to a more American sounding name? Just asking for a friend.

To maintain the Trump cache of exclusivity while expanding the GOP's alleged big tent, 47 may offer escalating cost levels of membership for Trump TV. I suggest that Ignorant, Really, Really Ignorant and Cabinet Level could cover the range. All levels will require a loyalty oath and $100k entry fee and receive a "Thank You for Your Attention" lapel pin.

The political cartoon on Page A4 of the Sept. 21 paper was a great redux with a Garden of Eden scenario. Its depiction of artificial intelligence (personified as a serpent) tempting Eve (a gullible victim) shows the dilemma facing today's society. If AI and data centers are the despised evils of 2026, why don't people trash their cellphones, I-pads, computers, surveillance equipment and any other electronic devices that they can't live without?

If my doctor, minister, mechanic or financial adviser lied to me, I would fire them. DJT's lies: tariffs are paid for by other countries, Mexico will pay for the wall, no new wars, Ohio Haitians are eating the cats, only criminal immigrants will be expelled, $5,000 DOGE benefits, $2,000 tariff dividend and $500 ACA refund; 12 times he said the strait will be reopened in a few days. We can't believe a single word that he says.

Elections are coming and there are chances to change this Republican dominance made by those who only "follow and speak" Trump's rules. WE can help people by voting responsibly. WE can bring our constitution back to relevance, where rules may actually be adhered to and followed honestly. Please get out and VOTE. PLEASE.

When women wanted abortion to be made legal in the 1970s they said it would only be used if the woman was raped or the mother's life was in danger. Now, 23 states have passed laws that an abortion can take place right up to the moment of birth. The majority of these babies are perfectly healthy as are the mothers. The birthrate in the US is now 1.6. Abortion is the greatest tragedy in the history of mankind.

I am not enthusiastic about our choices for Ohio Governor. However, when I read that Amy Acton refuses to debate, that is a giant red flag. Debates are about serving the public interest and responding to the needs of the voters by helping them make an informed choice at the ballot box.

The data center hysteria has gotten out of hand. Why not ban airplanes because they fall out of the sky? Why not ban electricity because it causes fires? Let's ban cars because they crash. Data Centers are essential to the function of our society.
