Changes coming for Ohio voters, so be prepared

Given the degree to which so many in Washington, D.C., have shown us their reluctance to do their jobs — or remember for whom they work — lately, it is likely the 2026 elections will be a time for voters to take action.

In Ohio, change is imminent, as redrawn congressional districts will mean upheaval for lawmakers and those heading to the polls.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose is trying to get out ahead of any confusion by updating the office’s Find My District tool now. The hope is voters will not be caught off guard just as they are looking to cast their ballots in the May 5, 2026, primary.

“This is an important resource not only for voters but also for candidates preparing to circulate petitions for the districts they want to represent,” said LaRose. “Ohioans deserve clarity and transparency in our elections, and that is exactly what we deliver.”

Want to figure out your new district? Visit: https://findmydistrict.ohiosos.gov/. When you do, you will see tabs at the top of the map. To find out which district you will be in for the 2026 elections and through 2032, click “2027 Districts.”

(Clicking on the tab without typing in an address first will show you the newly drawn district lines.)

As May approaches, voters will also want to check their voter registration and polling place.

Take advantage of tools like Find My District and more.

Knowledge is power, and being fully informed ahead of the May elections (and every election) is essential.
