Letters from local writers about the upcoming election candidates and issues will be published in this newspaper as space permits on a first-come, first-served basis.

Thursday is the deadline for the newspaper to receive letters to the editor about the Nov. 5 general election for publication in the newspaper’s print edition. Election letters received after the deadline may appear on the newspaper’s website.

Letters should be respectful of all candidates. We reserve the right to edit letters or reject those we deem inappropriate. Preference will be given to shorter letters.

We will not print anonymous letters. All letters must be signed and include the writer’s address and phone number. Only the writer’s name and community will be published.

All other regular letter rules apply.
