No need to farm to join Farm Bureau

Do you know what Farm Bureau is? Have you ever considered becoming a Farm Bureau member?

You might say, “I’m not a farmer so I can’t be a member” or “There is no need for me to be a member.”

If you are interested in local foods, protecting agriculture and preserving Ohio’s farm heritage and lifestyle for generations to come, then a Farm Bureau membership is right for you.

Ohio Farm Bureau is a grassroots organization that works hard to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities through programs and efforts such as advocating for good government policy, developing opportunities for young farmers, providing student scholarships and grants, supporting local food efforts, creating food literacy programs for kids, and funding efforts to protect the environment, water quality and farmland preservation.

Your membership supports these programs that ensure the growth of Ohio food and farms.

Another program effort supported by membership is hosting community-building events such as the Happy take place 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 19 at Family Farm and Home, 3850 Elm Road NE, Warren.

The Trumbull County Farm Bureau is partnering with Family Farm and Home, Countryside Veterinary Service, Animal Welfare League, Nationwide and Sum Productions to bring you a fun day with your pet.

Come kick off the fall season with a photo session with your pet facilitated by Sum Productions. Nationwide will be there to help you with all your pet insurance needs.

Countryside Vet staff will be present and administering vaccines for rabies, FVRCP cat distemper (1- to 3-year) and DHLPP distemper / Parvo (1- to 3-year).

Also, available through the Animal Welfare League will be opportunities for you to have your pet microchipped. All of these services will be provided at a discounted, affordable rates.

And don’t forget to support our host, Family Farm and Home, by getting all your pet food and supplies before you head home.

Still not convinced a Farm Bureau membership is for you? Trumbull County members will also be at the event.

Feel free to ask questions and pick up a free copy of Our Ohio. This bi-monthly member magazine connects consumers to agriculture through topics such as food, gardening, cooking, animals and events.

Through captivating photography, engaging stories and tips for living closer to the land, Our Ohio invites readers to discover their inner farmer.

Don’t miss out on a fun day to take care of your pet and to learn more about the Ohio Farm Bureau.
