AUSTINTOWN — David James Mayzik, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on May 7, 1954, in Youngstown, David was a son of Leroy Stephen and Josephine D. Maxgay Mayzik. David earned his bachelor’s degree in physics and went on to obtain a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. For 20 years, he applied his knowledge and skills as an engineer with Raytheon Technologies until his retirement in 2000. Former NBA coach and Celtics player Don Nelson dies at 86

Don Nelson, the second-winningest coach in NBA history who won five championships as a player with the Boston Celtics, died Sunday. He was 86.
