AUSTINTOWN - Terry Hunter passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, at Briarfield Manor.
She was born on June 4, 1949, in Delaware County, Pa., a daughter of Frederick and Bertha Benz Rehfuss.
Terry was a 1967 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School.
She worked as a Direct Care Professional for Siffrin Homes, where she lovingly cared for her best buddy, Joey.
Throughout her life, Terry opened her home to individuals in need and was like a mother to many.
Terry was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed roller skating and ice skating.
She married her first husband, Larry Hixson, on Aug. 3, 1968. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1970. She later married Charles Hunter on Oct. 12, 1974, who preceded her in death on April 1, 2021.
Terry leaves behind her children, Charles, Carmel, Christine, Christopher and daughter-in-law Samantha; grandchildren, Anastasia, Niveah, Sierra, Kayla, Miranda, Stephanie, Rochelle, Pennington and Alexis; and three great-grandchildren, including Gino. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Marianne Rehfuss; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Norb Gresh; several nieces and nephews, including Matthew Rehfuss, Nicole Capperes, Brad Gresh and Jessica Zavarello; and her very close great-nieces, Brittany and Sarah.
The family would like to thank the staff at Briarfield for their compassionate care for Terry.
There will be no services at this time.
