POLAND - Helen Patricia DePascale, 69, passed away peacefully, early Wednesday morning, Nov. 4, 2026, at Hospice House, surrounded by her family.
Helen was born on Sept. 8, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio. She was the daughter of Gerald "Chico" and Marie "Tizzy O'Connor" DePascale. She was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Cardinal Mooney, class of 1975, and went on to take classes at YSU.
Helen was known for her strong work ethic. She started her work at Idora Park as a teenager and continued to St. Elizabeth's, starting as an aide in 1977 and retiring as a medical coder in 2022.
In her younger days, Helen enjoyed bowling, cross-stitching and ceramics. She also had a love for music and dancing. Her first celebrity crush was David Cassidy, whose song "Brown Eyes," she believed, was about her.
Everyone wanted to be Helen's friend. Her smile and dimples could light up a room.
Helen didn't have any children of her own, but her nieces and nephews were her world. She was so proud of each and every one of them and was the "BEST" aunt.
Christmas was Helen's favorite time. She took special care in choosing and wrapping each gift. Each one looking delightful under the tree.
Helen leaves four siblings. Diane Nichols of Columbiana, Jerry DePascale, also of Columbiana, Ginny Dashiell of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Joe DePascale of Poland, as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents.
Professional arrangements were entrusted to Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield.
