NORTH LIMA - Catherine "Tootsie" Skoda Susany, 88, passed peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026.
Catherine was born on April 17, 1938, in Youngstown, to Joseph and Barbara Paladenech Skoda.
She graduated from Rayen High School.
Cathy was a lifetime member of SS Peter and Paul Church and a faithful member of the Daughter’s Club for over 40 years. She also was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, St. George Lodge 66, on Vestal Road.
Cathy had a love for her Croatian heritage, mainly the dancing and music. She put her daughters Gwen and Karen, her grandchildren Maria, Nicole and Dustin, and great-grandchildren Kyle, Kody and Hanna into the Happy Hearts Tamburitzans when they became of age.
Catherine leaves behind her daughter Karen Braun of Boardman; two sisters, Madeline Rosace of Girard and Diana Vance of Toledo; five wonderful grandchildren, Maria Marsh (Aaron Marsh) of Austintown, Nicole Jones of Struthers, Dustin Jones (Lindsay Jones) of Boardman, Jeffrey Susany of Boardman and Keith Braun (Kristina Braun) of Midland, Texas; and seven great-grandchildren, Kyle Jones, Kody Marsh, Bastien Dlwgosh, Brynna Jones, Kylee Susany, Nathaniel Pratt, and Isaac Jones. If you knew Cathy, you knew her grandchildren were everything to her. She was their biggest supporter and cheerleader. She will also be missed by her extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by Mike, her companion; her parents; brother Joseph Skoda Jr.; sister Barbara "Tykie" Hough; daughter Gwen Jones; and great-grandchild Hanna Marsh.
Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov 14, 2026, at Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m.
After the services, we will have a lunch at The Elm Tree, 170 Walton St., Struthers, OH 44471, at 12 p.m. to share memories together.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
