Tracy L. Frye 1969-2026

Tracey Frye

YOUNGSTOWN - Tracy L. Frye, 56, of Youngstown, passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, surrounded by her family in Fort Worth, Texas.

Born on Dec. 3, 1969, in Sharon, Pa., Tracy was the daughter of Edward C. Deitsch Jr. and Jeanne R. Guerino.

She was a 1988 graduate of Liberty High School.

Tracy worked for General Motors and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 1112, dedicating nearly 30 years of service. During her career, she worked in the Trim Department at the Lordstown Assembly plant. When asked what she did for a living, she’d often respond, “I build the cars that America drives.”

Tracy was a firecracker - feisty and stubborn, keeping everyone on their toes. You never had to wonder what she was thinking because she wasn’t one to bite her tongue. Her outspoken personality and unmistakable sense of humor made her truly one-of-a-kind.

Tracy loved making memories with family and friends, especially outdoors. Some of her favorite times were spent floating the river with her family on the Fourth of July, enjoying sunny days on the boat and playing bocce at the Army Navy with her husband, EC. She also enjoyed trying her luck gambling, relaxing in a bubble bath and spending time with her beloved dog, Opie, also affectionately known as Pepe. Tracy was always up for a cold Bud Light, a good laugh and a little shit-talking with those she loved.

Tracy is survived by her husband, Edward “EC” Cannistra; her son, Cody (Vanessa) Frye; her daughter, Cassidy (Daniel) Galliher; her beloved grandchildren, Charles and Audrey Galliher; and her sisters, Dina Robinson and Patricia Watts.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A private memorial will be held with family to celebrate Tracy’s life and cherish the memories that she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to an animal charity of one’s choice in her memory, honoring Tracy’s love for animals.

Tracy leaves behind a lifetime of memories and laughter that will never be forgotten. For Cody and Cassidy, every Matchbox Twenty song will bring back memories of their mom and the bond they shared. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
