HUBBARD - Robert E. Gibson, 81, of Hubbard, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at Addison Healthcare in Masury.
Robert was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Natrona Heights, Pa., a son of John A. and Ruth L. Ingram Gibson Jr.
He was a 1963 graduate of Penn Hills High School and received his bachelor's degree in 1967 at Edinboro State College.
Robert was a systems engineer at IBM for 25 years and later at Jas Tec and for 15-plus years worked at RE Gibson Systems Consulting Company.
He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 2072 and the Hubbard Historical Society.
His wife, Joan L. Gibson, whom he married in 1979, passed away Aug. 19, 2022.
Robert will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his stepgranddaughter, Megan (Luke) Black; and two stepgreat-grandsons, Mason and Bo. He also leaves his siblings, Dr. Charles I. (Jan) Gibson of Idaho, Patricia Gibson Steller of Maine, and several nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson David Frank and brother, John Gibson.
Per Robert's wishes, there are no calling hours or services.
Robert will be laid to rest at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
