NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Patty Lee Marsh, 72, passed away on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by family, generosity and an extraordinary capacity for making the people around her feel loved.
Born Feb. 6, 1954, to Beverly and Bob Raybuck of Struthers, Patty grew up surrounded by family and friendships, many of which she carried with her throughout her life.
At Struthers High School, she met Edward Marsh, the love of her life and the person with whom she would build her life. They married at St. Nicholas Church of Struthers and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
A graduate of The Pittsburgh Art Institute, Patty was an incredibly talented and creative artist. Sketching and creating were lifelong passions that continued to inspire her. She was also a devoted sports fan who followed games, teams and players closely and held an impressive amount of knowledge of it all--often more than anyone else in any room. She especially loved the Dallas Cowboys, Cavs, Guardians and the Buckeyes.
Together, Patty and Ed raised two daughters, Katie and Maggie, and built a life with family at its center. Some of the best times were spent with extended family gathered at the cottage and, in later years, the lake house, two of Patty’s favorite places. There, everyone would sit together for hours, telling stories, laughing and simply enjoying being together. Those were the moments Patty treasured most.
Of all the roles she took on throughout her life -- daughter, sis, wife, Mom, Gigi and friend -- she brought to them all the same enormous capacity to love. Becoming Gigi to Harper and Declan was an especially joyful role for Patty. She loved traveling to watch them play sports and simply being there for all the moments that mattered to them.
Patty was endlessly positive, generous and encouraging. She had a rare ability to make people feel seen, accepted and genuinely cared for. She didn’t simply tell people to be kind or to be better; she showed them how. Knowing Patty had a way of making you want to be a little kinder.
Patty is survived by her husband, Edward Marsh; her sister, Kelly Raybuck (Michael O’Dea); her daughters, Katie Marsh (Matt McCrimmon) and Maggie Keenan (Jon); and her beloved grandchildren, Harper and Declan Keenan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beverly and Bob Raybuck, and her brothers, Gary and Scott Raybuck.
Patty’s laughter and presence could fill a room, but it was the way she made people feel that will be remembered most. She taught those around her that family is everything, that the people we love are always worth celebrating, and that kindness, freely given, can leave a lasting mark. She leaves behind a lifetime of stories and laughter, and a family shaped by the extraordinary amount of love she gave them.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Patty’s memory to Hope Lodge Cleveland at raiseyourway.donordrive.com/pages/1234--for the gracious sense of home during difficult and uncertain times; or SouthernCare Hospice, 970 Windham Court, Suite 9, Youngstown, OH 44512 -- for the compassionate guidance, support and loving care, like that extended to Patty.
A time of gathering will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, OH 44471.
