Louis Firmstone 1940-2026

Together Again

CAMPBELL -- Louis Firmstone, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and family man, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, with his children by his side.

Louis was born on July 4, 1940, in Mount Pleasant, Pa.

He graduated from Scottdale High School in 1958.

On Dec. 1, 1960, he married the love of his life, Kleanthi "Kathy" Firmstone. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, faith and the countless memories they created over the years.

Louis was a hardworking and dedicated man. He served as a manager at Hills Department Store before beginning his career with Schwebel's, where he worked until his retirement in 1999.

Baseball held a special place in Louis's heart from an early age. He was a member of the first Little League baseball team in Kingview; and later, shared his love of the game with younger generations, coaching Little League baseball in Campbell for many years. Following his retirement, Louis became an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time on the course. He was also a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. But above everything else, Louis loved his family.

He was a wonderful father to his children, Tony, Steve and Rena, and a deeply devoted grandfather. In his later years, he made his home with his daughter, Rena, and was especially proud of his grandchildren, Louis, Kaylie, Ashley, Nicolas and Steven. They truly were his whole world, and the love and pride he had for his children and grandchildren could be seen throughout his life.

Louis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kleanthi, who passed away on Feb. 16, 2001; his son, Tony, who passed away on March 21, 2014; his parents; and his brother, Harry.

He leaves behind his children, Rena and Steve (Pam); his beloved grandchildren; and a family who will carry his love and memory with them always.

Those who knew Louis will remember a man who loved deeply, worked hard, enjoyed a good game of baseball or golf, and took tremendous pride in his family. His greatest legacy is not measured by the years he worked or the games he played, but by the family he loved.

The Firmstone family has entrusted Louis' care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. Private funeral services were officiated on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, by the Rev. Steve Denas at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.

Louis was laid to rest in Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Cemetery.

His life was one defined by family, and his memory will continue in the hearts of those who loved him.
