CANFIELD -- John Angelo Paolucci passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at the age of 57.
Born on May 19, 1969, in Youngstown, Ohio, John was the son of the late Thomas Paolucci and Betty First Paolucci. Raised in Austintown, this city laid the foundation where he would ultimately plant his roots. On Oct. 14, 1990, John married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie. Together, they happily shared 35 years of marriage and raised two beautiful children.
John was the co-owner of Paolucci’s Carpet Shop with his best friend and brother, Brian Paolucci. For over four decades, he dedicated his life to the flooring industry. Having learned the trade at a young age alongside his father, he brought a wealth of expertise to his work. In 1991, John, his father, and brother opened their store with success. Eventually, they welcomed the next generation--his son and nephew--to carry on the legacy of their family-owned business.
John was known for his calm, kind and humble demeanor; he was wise far beyond his years. He was the grounding force for those around him. He was an exceptional listener who always offered insightful advice. He encompassed a rare gift for finding the silver lining in any situation. A truly selfless man, John adored his family above all else. Beyond being an extraordinary father, he was an amazing “Papa” to his three granddaughters, who completely captured his heart.
John had a strong admiration for music and shared this passion with both of his children. He enjoyed attending concerts with his son, nephew and good friend, Dennis. In addition, he loved watching Ohio State football games, playing video games and spending quality time at home with his family--including his three beloved cats, Marshmallow, Sprinkles, and Oliver.
John will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie Rankin Paolucci; his son, Jonathan (Victoria) Paolucci of Austintown; his daughter, Raquel Paolucci of Poland; his brother, Brian (Lori) Paolucci; his three cherished granddaughters, Kinsley, Briella, and Gianna Paolucci; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Private funeral services have taken place, and John was peacefully laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. Family and friends are invited to visit www.higgins-reardon.com to share memories and condolences.
