NEW SPRINGFIELD - Gary E. Jones, 66, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026.
Gary was born May 17, 1960, in Youngstown, a son of John and Pat Smith Jones.
He was a 1978 graduate of Springfield Local High School and drove a tractor trailer and treasured his days off.
He enjoyed watching the Browns, Ohio State and the Indians play ball. Gary loved to fish, take pontoon rides and be with his friends. He was kindhearted when it came to animals and adored the dogs that he and his wife, Michelle, had. He was always available to help someone with a project and loved being outdoors. He had numerous friends and was loved by all.
Gary will be remembered and missed by his wife, Michelle Cummings Jones, whom he married in 1987; his brother, Rick (Peggy) Jones of New Springfield; his sister, Maureen (Lenny) Best of Portage, Michigan; his brother, Dave (Sheri) Jones of Thousand Oaks, California; his brother-in-law, Frank (Susan) Dixon of Youngstown; and his brother-in-law, Marty (Regina) Cummings of Evansville, Indiana; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Kim Dixon.
Private services were held at Clemente Funeral Home.
