Edward Edwards 1942-2026

ASHTABULA -- Edward Edwards, 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 29, 2026, with his family by his side.

Edward was born May 28, 1942, in Howland, the son of Harry and Lola Puegner Edwards.

Ed proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Following his military service, Ed worked as a lineman with AT&T, retiring after 35 years.

Outside of work, Ed enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping, boating and jet skiing. He also enjoyed reading and was an outstanding cook. His wife affectionately called him “cakes.”

Besides his wife, Stephanie Kraykovich Edwards, whom he married April 24, 1989, he will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law, Colette Rupert; brothers-in-law, George (Renata) Kraykovich, Richard (Colleen) Stipetic, and Brian Rupert; four nieces, Breann and Becky, also his goddaughters, Krysten (Justin) and Candice; two nephews, Joseph (Amber) and Joshua (Shawn); two great-nieces, Hazel and Ruby; and three great-nephews, Ryan, Harrison and Ellis.

He also had a love for all of his dogs, Fred, Bubbie, Rehba, Jack, Nero, Max and Bentley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susie; niece, Cindy; and parents-in-law, Stephen and Cecilia Kraykovich.

Private services have taken place for the family, with full military honors provided by the great men of VFW Post 9571.
