Donna A. Menelle 1940-2026

CENTERVILLE - Donna Arlow Menelle, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born on April 24, 1940, to Steve and Mary Arlow, she grew up in Campbell, raised her family in Austintown, and relocated to Centerville, Ohio, in 1989.

A 1958 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, Donna enjoyed a 50-year career that included Packard Electric, Jerry Lee's Jewelry, National City Bank and Wright State University, where she retired after 10 years in the Lifespan Research Center and School of Medicine. She was active in community service, volunteering with the National Literacy Foundation, Cox Arboretum and the Ohio Department of Aging.

She enjoyed reading, lifelong learning through classes at Youngstown State University and Sinclair Community College, exercising at the YMCA with SilverSneakers, and preparing delicious recipes to share with family and neighbors. Donna was a devoted mother and grandmother, known to her grandchildren, Danielle, Nicholas, Sophia, and Lauren, as "Baba," and was the best great-grandmother to Elio and Luciana. She treasured her eight-decade-long friendship with her beloved "Fab Five" friends, Mary, Marilyn, and Sandra, along with her dear friend, Norma, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Christina Fillinger (David) of Centerville, and her son, Michael Menelle (Mary Katherine) of Canfield.

A celebration of life will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026, at Cox Arboretum MetroPark in Dayton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to causes close to Donna's heart, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Feed The Children, No Child Hungry, or St. Joseph Indian School.
