Dean S. Suchora 1962-2026

Dean Suchora

STRUTHERS - Dean S. Suchora, 64, of Struthers, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 16, 2026.

Dean was born on March 6, 1962, in Youngstown, a son of Richard and the late Dolores Terihay Suchora.

A 1980 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Dean continued his education at Youngstown State University, where he earned a degree in industrial management.

He was employed as a manager at PepsiCo.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing at Mosquito Lake, camping at the family cabin, and tending to his vegetable garden. Fishing trips with Dean were never without a little mischief, as he was known for pulling his signature tricks on unsuspecting fishing companions; that was when the term "Got Dean’ed!” was invented.

Dean was a devoted Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians fan and had a great appreciation for music, especially The Beatles. He was also very artistic and enjoyed bowling in local leagues, playing darts and trying his luck at the slot machines at Hollywood Casino.

Above all, Dean’s greatest joy was his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Papa Dean.” He treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in being their grandfather. Whether sharing a laugh, spending time outdoors, or simply being together, Dean made memories his family will forever hold close to their hearts.

Dean leaves behind his loving wife, Debbie Berry Suchora, whom he married June 9, 1984; his four sons, Keith (Jamie) Suchora, Tristan Suchora, Brandon (Samantha) Suchora and Cameron (fiancée Lindsey Opritza) Suchora; his four cherished grandchildren, Adalyn, Alison, Colt and Ava; his father, Richard Suchora; his brother, Jeff (Carrie) Suchora; his sister, Michelle (Andrew) Young; his mother-in-law, Betty Berry; and sisters-in-law Renae (KJ) Loughman and Doreen Ferguson. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, his beloved dog, Ozzy, and his grandpups, who held a special place in his heart.

In addition to his mother, Dolores, Dean was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father-in-law, James Berry, and his brother-in-law, Shane Ferguson.

Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, Ohio 44471.
