Carol A. Doyle 1946-2026

Carol Doyle

BOARDMAN - Carol Ann Doyle, 80, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

She was born Aug. 30, 1946, in Danville, Pa., the daughter of the late Donald L. and Dorothy Mae Lewis Thomas.

Carol built a life centered on faith, family, music and service to others. Rooted in a deep faith, Jesus Christ was her cornerstone from an early age, providing a steadfast foundation that endured through every season.

She was a graduate of South High School in Cleveland and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in music education from Eastern Nazarene College, where she prepared for the work that would become both her life's ministry and occupation.

Carol devoted more than 60 years of service to the church as music director, choir director, Bible Study leader and pianist, where she generously shared her talents in worship, education and fellowship. She was a deeply involved and active member of Venture Church and the Peniel Holiness Camp Association.

With over 30 years of teaching elementary music, mostly in the Youngstown City Schools, serving at Kirkmere, West and Paul C. Bunn Elementary Schools until her retirement, Carol's love of music continued far beyond the classroom. She taught music lessons from her home for many years, extending her gifts to generations of students and families. She also loved crafting and traveling, interests that brought her much delight throughout her life.

She has left behind a legacy of loving Jesus and living out her Christian values to uplift those around her. She is remembered for her unconditional love, her graciousness in helping others, her faithful personal relationship with her Savior, and a notable laugh that brought joy to her friends and family.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Doyle, whom she married on June 17, 1972; her sons, Nathan (Heather) Doyle of Boardman, Stephen (Bethany) Doyle of Houston, Pa., and Jonathan (Aimee) Doyle of Jacksonville, Fla.; and her 13 grandchildren, who were a cherished part of her life, Isaiah, Moriah, Ezekiel, Uriah, Elijah, Levi, Noah, Isaac, Abigail, Josiah, Emma, Hannah and Judah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald L. and Dorothy Mae Lewis Thomas; her brother, Donald L. Thomas Jr.; and several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends may pay their respects during visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512. An additional visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026, at Venture Church, 7872 Glenwood Ave, Youngstown, OH 44512, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the church.
