AUSTINTOWN -- Blaine Roland Long, 93, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at Continuing Healthcare of Boardman.
He was born April 27, 1933, in Friedens, Pa., to the late Daniel and Faye Smith Long.
After graduating from high school, he was drafted into the Navy in 1951, and later discharged in 1955. He worked on the assembly line at General Motors for 27 years, retiring in 1992.
Blaine was a proud member of the UAW 1112. He loved watching the Steelers and NASCAR and enjoyed making annual trips with his wife to Clearwater, Florida.
Blaine is survived by his son, Bradley (Margaret “Beth”) Long of Austintown; daughter-in-law, Lisa Long of Girard; three grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Long of Austintown, Douglas (Katie) Long Jr. of Girard and Amanda (Ray) Brown of Ellsworth; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Long; his second wife, Irene H. Long, whom he married on April 9, 1983, and who passed away Aug. 2, 2016; and his son, Douglas Long.
A special thanks to his granddaughter, Amanda, for her special love and care during his short illness.
Per Blaine’s wishes, there will be no services.
