AUSTINTOWN - It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Benjamin Robert Trucksis, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with brain and spine cancer.
Benjamin was born June 27, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, to Christopher and Mallory Trucksis.
Benjamin was a vibrant and loving little boy always with a smile on his face and his big sissy by his side.
Benjamin loved to fly around the house on his Minnie Mouse airplane, zooming from room to room with a vibrant smile on his face. Outdoors he always had a bubbly grin as he vroomed around the neighborhood and lawn in our red Bronco and Bluey car with his sister either by his side, pushing behind or sometimes riding on his roof. Benjamin, or "Ben Ben,” to his sissy, loved watching Miss Rachel, swimming, playing with his cars, his kitchen and ice cream shop, as well as swinging to Super Simple songs with his big sissy in tow.
Benjamin cherished every moment playing with all his cousins, as he had too many that loved him to count. Mornings were always filled with breakfast around the little table and tiny chairs with eggs, fruit and endless laughs. Evenings were filled with walks, books, snuggles and noise to fill our home with joy and childhood memories we will cherish now with a tear and a smile.
The loss of our beloved child has touched so many, but for our sweet girl, it has saddened beyond imagination. Ben Ben was her best friend, her joy, her favorite playmate and the first thing she would ask for each morning and the last person she kissed each night. Her little hand will now feel empty without his in hers. Their love, while it did not get to grow with them will now live in a lifetime of stories to share of Ellie's first love, her baby brother.
He is leaving behind many heavy hearts, starting with his parents, Christopher and Mallory Trucksis; his devoted sister, Ellie Trucksis; his loving grandparents, Beth Nims “Mimi,” Robert Trucksis “Grandpa,” Susan Trucksis “Grandma,” and his great-grandmother, Theresa Trucksis Hickey “Grammie.” Benjamin was well loved and admired by the countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends while projecting his contagious smile into everyone's hearts around him. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Robert Trucksis, Gene and Ellie Nims, Joseph and Eleanor Kunder, and his beloved dog Rocky.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman. If you would like to bring a stuffed animal to calling hours, we will have donation boxes that we will then be donating to Akron Children's Hospital in Benjamin's name.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish, 4545 New Road in Austintown.
A chapel service will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, 3495 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Canfield.
We would like to thank Akron Children's Hospital PICU, Oncology, Neurosurgery, Child Life and Palliative teams for their care and support throughout these difficult days, as well as the Austintown Fire Department for our safe journey back to Akron for Benjamin's final days. The love and support we have received from family, friends, neighbors, our community and even strangers has been overwhelming, and we are more grateful than can ever be expressed in words.
We ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Akron Children's Hospital in Benjamin's name.
Please remember to always smile for Benjamin.
