WARREN -- Virginia Lee Begansky, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Sept. 9, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
Virginia was born on Jan. 29, 1938, in Brownsville, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary White Berish.
Virginia was a graduate of Beth Center High School and Penn Commercial College. She worked as a secretary first at Jones & Laughlin Steel and then for over 20 years at the Warren parochial schools.
Virginia was a member of Christ Our King Parish, where she was active in the church serving as a lector and sang in the choir. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her friends and family, attending her sons' sporting events and gardening. She was a fan of Pittsburgh's Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. She was very proud of her independence later in life. Above all, she was a loving wife and mother.
Virginia will be deeply missed by her sons, Matthew (Yuwen Ge) Begansky and Joseph (Doris) Begansky; sisters, Nancy (Joe) Zipko and Viola Sliman; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Sicchitano.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Begansky, whom she married on Aug. 31, 1963, and with whom she shared 44 years of marriage until his passing in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rosemarie Murray.
Family and friends may visit from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at Lane Funeral Homes Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church, Warren.
Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery.
