CASA GRANDE, Arizona -- Raymond "Ray" Roy Devellin Sr., age 73, passed away in the morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, after a years-long battle with ALS. Raymond was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Ray was born on July 6, 1953, in Youngstown, to Raymond E. Devellin and Irene E. Abram Devellin.
He graduated from East High School in June 1971 and immediately joined the United States Navy.
Ray married Deborah "Debbie" R. Wright Devellin on July 9, 1974.
After working in the steel mills for several years, Ray began what would become a 30-year career with the United States Postal Service, from which he eventually retired. Ray and Debbie then spent their retirement years surrounded by family in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Ray was one of five siblings. He is survived by his sister, Rae Ann Clark of Youngstown, brother, Ronald (Patty) Devellin of Canfield, sister, Katherine Wright of Youngstown, and brother, Charles Devellin of Niceville, Florida.
Ray leaves behind his devoted wife of 52 years, Debbie, and their three children, Raymond (Kimberly) Devellin Jr., Candace (Benjamin) Marcum and Kenneth (Katie) Devellin, all of Casa Grande, Arizona. He was also a beloved grandfather to seven grandchildren and great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond E. Devellin (59) and Irene E. Devellin (84), who are both buried in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
Ray will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his service to his country, and the love he shared with those around him. He cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and his family was the center of his life. His legacy will live on through the family he loved and the many memories they shared together.
Visitation and services will be at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud, The Gardens Chapel, 525 N. Peart Road, Casa Grande, Arizona, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 13, 2026. Military Honors Ceremony and interment will follow at 1 p.m. in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
