YOUNGSTOWN -- Patricia A. Lipscomb Nesbitt, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Patricia was born on April 6, 1944, to Leroy "Bubby" Lipscomb and Mary Staydohar Holquist. She was a lifelong resident of Youngstown, where she grew up and graduated from Chaney High School in 1962. Patricia spent her working years at Chase Bank, formerly Bank One, where she worked as a teller until her retirement in 2003.
In her younger years, Patty enjoyed dancing and playing cards. Later in life, she cherished her retirement years with her beloved husband, Reynold "Nez" Nesbitt. Together, they enjoyed traveling, spending time with their family and visiting casinos. Above all, Patty treasured the life she shared with Nez.
The love between Patty and Reynold was truly extraordinary. When asked shortly before her passing what she considered her greatest achievement in life, Patty simply replied that it was marrying Reynold. Their marriage lasted nearly 60 years, until only moments before their 60th wedding anniversary, which they had planned to celebrate together on Sept. 10, 2026. Their love and devotion to one another will remain an enduring part of their family's story.
Patricia is survived by her beloved husband, Reynold "Nez" Nesbitt of Youngstown; her two sons and two daughters, Shawn (Tonya) Nesbitt, Shane (Pam) Nesbitt, Shannon Nesbitt and Shari (Tilden) Nesbitt; her brothers, Harold (Patty) Lipscomb, Phillip Lipscomb and Scott (Debbie) Lipscomb; her sister, Ellen (Randy) Wagner; stepsister, Michele (Rodney) Poole; and stepbrother, Ken (David) Evans. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends who will miss her dearly.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Leroy "Bubby" Lipscomb; her mother, Mary Staydohar Holquist; her stepfather, Jack "Red" Holquist; her stepmother, Vivian Lipscomb; her sister, Donna Burkholder; her brother-in-law, Larry Burkholder; several treasured members of her extended in-law family; and her nephew, Kevin Burkholder.
Patricia's life was defined by her love for her husband, her devotion to her family and the many memories she created with those she held dear. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the joy she shared and the lasting impact she had on the lives of her family and friends.
Services have been entrusted to Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road, Youngstown, OH 44511. Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, with a memorial service to follow.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Southern Care Hospice for the compassionate care and support provided to Patricia and her family during her final days.
Patty will be deeply missed and forever loved.
