YOUNGSTOWN -- Mary M. Shields, 93, of Youngstown, formerly of Hubbard, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Mary was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Sharon, Pa., a daughter of Joseph and Edith Carbone Angelo.
She was a 1950 graduate of Hubbard High School.
She was a member of the former St. Bernadette Church in Masury.
Mary enjoyed cooking, baking and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, Donald E. Shields Sr., whom she married on March 14, 1957, passed away May 14, 1996.
Mary will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family, Donald E. (Sheila) Shields Jr. of Mentor, David (Donna) Shields of Greenville, Pa., Douglas G. (Debbi) Shields of Hubbard, Natalie Elizabeth Shields of Hubbard and Brian S. Shields of Cortland; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
There will be services at noon Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, with calling hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.
Mary will be laid to rest in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
