NORTH LIMA -- Marlene A. Holdash, 84, formerly of the city's West Side, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026, at Aventura at Assumption Village.
Marlene was born July 27, 1942, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late William and Molly Cecko Holdash, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1960 graduate of Ursuline High School and later attended nursing school. Marlene worked at the General Electric Mazda Lamp Plant and also worked as a nurse aide and caregiver, including five years as a live-in caregiver, until she retired.
Marlene was a member of the former St. Brendan Church. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, shopping, and cooking and especially enjoyed crafts and adult coloring books.
Left to forever cherish Marlene's memory are her two brothers, Raymond M. Holdash of Youngstown and Phillip J. Holdash of Mineral Ridge; Phillip's longtime companion, Barbara Wood of Youngstown; her former sister-in-law, Pat Holdash of Boardman; and several extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by an infant brother, Irvin Holdash.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at 6:30 p.m.
Entombment will take place Wednesday morning, Sept. 30, 2026, in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, 1300 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Youngstown, OH 44510.
