LAS VEGAS -- Marco "Marc" Dilisio, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his loving family by his side.
Marc was born July 5, 1940, in Pacentro, Abruzzo, Italy, the son of Gaetano and Enrichetta Pompeo Dilisio.
In 1960, at the age of 20, Marc emigrated to America. He lived briefly in Buffalo, New York, before making his home in Youngstown, Ohio.
In 1989, Marc and his wife, Jennie, moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they made their home for the remainder of his life. Marc married Jennie Niro Dilisio on July 20, 1963. They shared 63 years of marriage and raised four children: Linda, Marc, Mary and Gina.
Marc loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. His wonderful sense of humor, memorable stories and unmistakable Italian accent were loved by everyone who knew him. Marc was a talented cook and especially enjoyed making homemade sausage and his family's favorite pasta dish, affectionately known as "loose macaroni."
Marc worked as a forklift mechanic for Valley Industrial in Youngstown and Inland Hobbs in Las Vegas. In his younger years, he also worked side jobs in concrete and roofing. A true jack-of-all-trades, Marc could build or repair just about anything and was always willing to help his family and friends.
Marc remained deeply proud of his Italian heritage and loved sharing stories of growing up in Pacentro. He loved good food, figs, wine and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Marc leaves behind his beloved wife, Jennie; his children, Linda (Sonny) Cascarelli, Marc (Tanya) Dilisio, Mary (Don) Nobis and Gina (Gary) Torsky; his grandchildren, Dominic Cascarelli, Tina (Matt) Azam, Gary Torsky Jr., Austin Dilisio-Nobis, Gavin (Amber) Torsky, Giovanni Dilisio, Gianna Torsky and Franchesca Dilisio; and his four great-grandsons, Justin, Arys, Matteo and Baker. Marc was also blessed to know before his passing that two more great-grandsons were on the way later this year.
Marc is also survived by his siblings, Ralph Dilisio, Louisa (Gary) Baker and Joe Dilisio; his sister-in-law, Antoinette "Toni" (Ozzie) Furano; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Marc was preceded in death by his parents, Gaetano and Enrichetta Pompeo Dilisio; his grandparents, Giuseppe and Francesca D'Alessandro Pompeo; his sisters-in-law, Mary Delisio, Emma Niro, Nancy Dilisio and Michelle Dilisio; and his brothers-in-law, Matt Delisio and Gus Niro.
Marc's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to his daughter Mary, who accompanied him to his medical appointments, managed his medications and devoted so much time to caring for him, and to his wife, Jennie, who lovingly cared for Marc at home. Their love and devotion helped surround Marc with care and family throughout the final chapter of his life.
Join Marc's family for a Celebration of Life Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, OH 44512.
