MEDINA -- Lorraine Sutton Parnell, 84, of Medina, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of Kirby Marshall Parnell, to whom she had been married for 45 years.
Born Sept. 15, 1942, in Youngstown, Lorraine was the oldest of three children and the daughter of the late Edward John Sutton and Annette Cercone Sutton.
Lorraine began working with her mother and sisters in the family business, Sutton Tours and Travel, which her mother had started. Together, working with her mother and sisters from their first location in Struthers, eventually moving to Boardman, where the business expanded to include buses. In the late 1980s, Lorraine started a travel training school to complement the existing business. Eventually, managing Southern Park Limo, which offered airport transportation to the area airports and managed the buses for Sutton Tours.
Lorraine traveled extensively working with the Travel Agency, taking groups on bus tours, air tours, cruises, and more. She cultivated lifelong friendships with many of her customers and business partners with whom she worked and traveled.
After her retirement, Lorraine and her husband, Kirby, called Medina home.
She is survived by her sisters, Joyce Sutton and Louann Sutton Kutlick; her sons, E.J., Chris and Jim; daughters, Mary, Michele and Cindy; niece, Kelli; and nine grandchildren.
Lorraine will be remembered for her incredible compassion, gracious warmth and empathy, and quick and colorful wit. Her fierce protection of her family became a pillar of strength for all its members.
Private services were held for the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.
