Joseph M. Stanchin 1939-2026

TOLEDO -- Joseph M. Stanchin, 86, passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at Foundation Park Care Center, Toledo.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1939, in Youngstown, to Mary Helen and Joseph P. Stanchin.

A 1957 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown, Joe then went on to serve in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1958 until 1962.

He then worked for 42 years as a purchasing agent for Bearings Inc., retiring in 2009.

His memberships include the VFW Post 3338 and the Jude Thaddeus Post 1675 CWV. He also was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus with the Bishop Hoffman Assembly 807 of Rosary Cathedral.

Surviving are his sons, Mark Allen and Kenneth (Sarah) Stanchin; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip, and his wife, Joanne Stanchin; sister-in-law, Marie Bonish; and one great-nephew.

His wife, Mary Ann, preceded him in death in 2017.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, in St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Road, Toledo, OH 43613, where friends will be received beginning at 10 a.m.

Interment will be at noon Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
