HURON - Helen Jurkovac, 97, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who cherished her.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1928, in Arnold, Pa.
After graduating from high school in 1947, Helen began her career at Alcoa in New Kensington, Pa.
It was during those years that her journey in life continued to unfold, eventually leading her to the love of her life, Matthew Jurkovac. The two were married on May 9, 1959, beginning a beautiful life together.
Helen was a loving mother to her four children, Mark, Tim, Lynda and Jeff; and a proud grandmother to her two grandchildren, Tanner and Walker. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured the time they spent together.
Helen was an incredible baker, homemaker and artist. She had a wonderful appreciation for the beauty of the world around her and loved to travel, explore parks and nature, and make memories with her family and dear friends. She also had a great love for baseball, especially the Cleveland Guardians.
Helen had a special way of making everyone she met feel loved and welcomed. She was adored by all who knew her, and her kindness, warmth, creativity and love will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Helen will forever be loved, cherished, and remembered.
In accordance with Helen’s wishes, no services will be held. Those wishing to honor her memory may make donations to Reserve Care Stein Hospice.
