ROCKFIELD, Ky. -- George E. Kalamets, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
He was born on April 10, 1944, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Michael and MaryAnn Martoncik Kalamets.
On April 30, 1962, he married the love of his life, Karen Kotulock; they were married 64 years.
George worked for General Motors-Lordstown for 34 years and was a dedicated Chevy man. He enjoyed many hobbies like fishing, hunting, gardening and collecting coins. He also loved spending time with all his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Kotulock Kalamets; and his three sons, George (Tammy) Kalamets of Salem, Michael Kalamets of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Mark (Holly) Kalamets of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
George lives on through his four grandkids, Adam (Chelsea) Kalamets, Alex (Emily) Kalamets, Owen Kalamets and Seth Kalamets; one great-grandson, Beau Kalamets; two brothers, Joe Kalamets and Richard Kalamets; and several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and MaryAnn Kalamets; and brother, Michael J. Kalamets.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
Calling hours will be held prior to the service, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
