YOUNGSTOWN -- Eugene Ostavitz, born Sept. 18, 1949, in Youngstown, to the late Eugene and Helen Ostavitz, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026, at AHN Beaver Hospital.
For the majority of his career, Eugene worked as a carpenter, a labor of love that he pursued with passion and dedication. He was a proud Vietnam veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his son, Jason (Amanda) Ostavitz; grandchildren, Bryce, Tanner and Sophia; sister, Deborah (Eddie) Dorbish; several nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces; special friends, Albert Dulovich and Ron Dorbish; and all of his church family.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Valley Christian Fellowship, 935 Wallace Drive, Rochester, PA 15074, with a luncheon to follow. Pastor Patti Elliott will be officiating.
Professional services were entrusted to the Corless-Matter Funeral Home and Cremation Services LLC, 1133 Church St., Ambridge, PA 15003.
