BOARDMAN -- Eleanor Marie Babik-Rakocy, 97, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026.
She was born Nov 6, 1928, in Youngstown, a daughter of Michael J. and Anna Yash Repko.
Eleanor was an East High School graduate and worked in the women's wear department at Kmart in Boardman. Eleanor was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish-St. Matthias Church, Youngstown, the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild and Jednota.
Her first husband, Michael J. Babik, passed away in 1975, and her second husband, Andrew Rakocy, passed away in 2009.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Beverly Babik and Richard (Brenda) Babik, and brother, Michael Repko.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Michael Babik; her brothers, Paul Repko and Raymond Repko; and her sisters, Mary Procrivnak, Margaret Cox, Elizabeth Repko, Dorothy Shirilla and Agnes Oskrip.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at the Kubina-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Boardman. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at St. Mary Magdalene Parish- St. Christine Church, Youngstown.
She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
