Diana J. Deichman 1948-2026

ELLSWORTH -- Diana Jean Deichman, 78, of Ellsworth, died peacefully of complications of dementia on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026.

Diana was born Jan. 25, 1948, in Poland to Mary and Oliver Hough.

She attended Poland High School and moved on to Youngstown State University, where she received her bachelor's degree in accounting.

Diana worked as an accountant and did seasonal tax preparation work.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Martin Hough; and her sons, Martin Zagotti and Robert Deichman.

She is survived by her husband, Milton Deichman; her sisters, Linda Baumgartner (Harry – deceased), Marlaine (Gary) Drennen and Christine (Jeff) Heidel; children, John Zagotti Jr., Mark (Deana) Deichman, Lisa Black (fiance, Robert) and Dawn (Dayton) Brown; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Diana was a loving and caring person who always made sure her home was filled with love and laughter.

She was president of the PTA at Taft Elementary School and secretary for the Knights of Columbus for several years. She loved her garden and had a lifetime of fun adventures like riding horses, bowling, dune buggying, riding motorcycles and having mules and horses.

Instead of a traditional funeral, the family will host a celebration of life to share stories and fond memories of Diana on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at Ellsworth Community Church-11171 W. Akron-Canfield Road, Ellsworth, OH 44416. All are welcome to join family for a prayer service at 11 a.m. with an outdoor picnic directly following. Casual attire is encouraged, just as Diane would have wanted.
