SALEM -- Daniel F. Kloos departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, with his loving family by his side, at the age of 54.
Born on Feb. 2, 1972, in Youngstown, he was a son of the late Herman and Rebecca St. Clair Kloos.
Daniel was a 1990 graduate of South Range High School.
He was a proud veteran, having served in both the United States Navy and the Army National Guard in Missouri and Ohio. During his service he was a part of two deployments in support of Operation Desert Storm.
He also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and pursued his MBA from Washington University while working for the military aircraft division of Boeing in St. Louis, Missouri.
He returned to Ohio in 2000, holding positions in process engineering and manufacturing management, where he received his Six-Sigma Black Belt certification. Dan made a lasting impact at ALBCO Foundry, where he became a part owner.
He treasured the moments spent with his wife and children, finding joy in family gatherings and adventures. An avid runner and cyclist, Daniel embraced an active lifestyle.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Traci McKenzie Kloos, whom he married Feb. 9, 1991; their two children, Emerson and Evalynn Kloos; his sister, Karen (Stuart) McDonald of Salem; his brother, David (Kris) Kloos of Melbourne, Florida; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Rachel McKenzie of Salem.
Daniel was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Kloos; and father-in-law, Thomas McKenzie Sr.
A celebration of life will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at Life Evangelism Center, 960 W. State St., Salem, OH 44460, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable life Daniel led and the legacy he leaves behind.
