AUSTINTOWN - Constance "Connie" Joy Grope Coriston, daughter of John and Alverda Donahue Grope, passed away on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, at her home in Austintown, surrounded by her children.
Born Oct. 24, 1951, she was 74 years old.
Connie graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1970.
She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper, but her true calling was as a mother and grandmother. She was also a devout Christian who served as the organist at Wedgwood Park Church for over 30 years, where she also served as the prayer chain coordinator.
Constance Joy had no trouble living up to her name. She loved her family, her friends, and most importantly the Lord to the fullest extent. Connie spent every day studying the Bible and her daily devotionals. She loved bowling, traveling and reading novels, especially ones written by James Patterson. Later in life, she could be found in her living room, most likely wearing purple, watching old sitcoms and spending time with the people she loved.
Connie is survived by her children, Kelly (John) Ragan, Mindy (Randy) Wilson and Trey (Tina) Coriston; and her pride and joy, her grandsons, Ashton and Chase Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, David, John Robert "Bob", James "Butch", Dennis "Porky" and Richard "Rick"; and her late ex-husband and good friend, John Coriston.
A memorial church service will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Wedgewood Park Evangelical Church, 1944 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, in the sanctuary, with a luncheon to follow.
