Carol Lynne Motichko 1949-2026

BOARDMAN -- Carol "Lynne" Motichko passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer.

Born Sept. 26, 1949, she was the beloved daughter of Raymond and Mary Alice "Breezy" Vogelberger.

A 1967 graduate of Chaney High School, Lynne began her working life in the cash office at Strouss in downtown Youngstown. She later continued her career at Western Reserve Plastics, where she built cherished lifelong friendships. Lynne eventually retired from the offices of the Schwebel Baking Company, though she remained connected to her former colleagues, frequently gathering with fellow retirees at Wednesday coffee.

Lynne treasured time spent with her family and friends, but above all she had a passion for travel and was fortunate enough to visit incredible destinations, including Hawaii and Hong Kong, though she held a special place in her heart for Mackinaw City, the Outer Banks and Charleston. Throughout her life, bowling and golfing were a huge part of her life, bringing her immense joy even though she was unable to participate in her later years.

Lynne is survived by her son, Timothy (Cyndi) Motichko of Champion; her daughter, Meredith (Patrick) Gorman of Columbiana; her former husband, Ronald; her sister, Sue (Rennie) Commisso; her niece, Christina (David) Kusnierczyk, all of Poland; her sister-in-law, Elaine (John) Babinchak and family of South Carolina; as well as three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank Mercy Health Boardman, Youngstown, Rehabilitation Hospital and Caprice Nursing Home for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a funeral service at noon, with the Rev. Edward P. Noga officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
