BOARDMAN -- Virginia Kathryn "Ginny" Geddes, 82, of Boardman, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 27, 2026, at her home.
Born on June 27, 1944, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of the late Steve "Kelly" and Bertha Galmish Fedor.
Virginia was a graduate of North High School and went on to earn an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Youngstown State University. She dedicated many years of her career to working as a legal secretary for several law firms throughout the area, where she was known for her professionalism, organization and kind nature.
On Nov. 25, 1978, Virginia married the love of her life, John T. "Jack" Geddes. Together, they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage until Jack's passing in 2022. Their journey began at Countryside Golf Course, where their romance blossomed into a beautiful love story.
Virginia had a passion for shopping and was always known for her impeccable sense of style. She also shared a love of travel with Jack, and together they explored nearly every state in the country. Their favorite tradition was spending several weeks each winter in Las Vegas, creating memories they cherished throughout their lives.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn (Chip) Olenick of Bluffton, South Carolina; her brother, Jerry (Joan) Fedor of Boardman; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, and her cherished younger brother, Tommy Fedor.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of Comfort Keepers, especially Carol Mirkin, Stacie and Kelsey, for the exceptional care and kindness they provided. They also wish to thank Virginia's many friends and neighbors at South Creek Apartments, as well as the members of her support groups, whose friendship, love and unwavering support became like family to her.
Family and friends may call from 9:15 a.m. until the time of prayer service on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish-Holy Trinity Church, 250 North Bridge St., Struthers.
Virginia will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to a local support group or charitable organization of the donor's choice in Virginia's memory.
"Sometimes people come into our lives and truly make a difference. Virginia was one of those people. Her journey was far more difficult than most, yet she faced it with remarkable strength, grace, and determination. She touched the lives of so many through her kindness, resilience and unwavering spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who loved and had the privilege of knowing her."
