AUSTINTOWN -- Thomas A. Toth Jr., 78, of Austintown, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, at Austintown Healthcare Center.
He was born April 26, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of the late Thomas A. Toth Sr. and Julie Kalasky Toth.
Tom married Linda Orwell on June 23, 1973. Together they shared 53 years of marriage and wonderful memories.
He graduated from YSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.
He was a postal worker at the post office for many years. He took pride in being the past president of the APWU.
He enjoyed taking photographs of nature and the great outdoors. Tom was an avid golfer and a member of the Johnson Club Golf League, where he earned a hole-in-one award in 1993. He umpired from 1968 to 1982 for the Youngstown Metro Umpire Association. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Pirates, as well as YSU, OSU and Notre Dame. Thomas had an open heart for all animals, especially his baby, Emma. However, his greatest joy was found in his family.
Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and countless animal lovers.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Linda Toth; children, Renee (Kyle) Felix of Atlanta, Georgia, and David (Rochelle) Toth of Columbus; and grandpuppies, Henry, Oscar, Oliver and Belle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Toth; cat, Jules; and dogs, Francesca and Heather.
Funeral services will begin at noon Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at Lane Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, OH 44515.
Family and friends may pay their respects one hour prior to the services, from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
Tom will be laid to rest in Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
